Wells Fargo Junior Golf Clinic
The Toshiba Classic has earned a name as one of Orange County’s major philanthropic events, due to the million-dollar contributions it makes to Hoag Hospital and other charities each year. But many overlook the impact the tournament makes on another significant priority – the children.
Through the Wells Fargo Junior Golf Clinic, a tradition that is now in its fourth year, the Toshiba Classic gives local kids a chance to learn the game of golf from the game’s greatest players. Tour legends like Fuzzy Zoeller and Andy Bean will demonstrate the fundamentals of the game, and work with the kids one-on-one to provide a memorable life experience. The day not only enables kids to work on their tactical skills, but gives them the unique opportunity to have face time with the greats of golf.
"It’s great to see the players out there spending time with the kids," stated Jeff Purser, tournament director. "It gives us a chance not only to help them work on their golf skills, but to pass our love of the game on to future generations."
In addition to working directly with the pros, juniors will receive instruction from the teaching staff of Newport Beach Country Club. The complimentary Wells Fargo Junior Golf Clinic – scheduled for Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at the Newport Beach Country Club driving range – is open to the public, and free to all children ages 5 through 12. Prior to the clinic, juniors are invited to attend the second round of the Toshiba Classic.

Wells Fargo is a platinum sponsor of the Toshiba Classic, and has been the title sponsor of the Wells Fargo Junior Golf Clinic since its inception four years ago. It is this dedication to the children of Orange County that makes the Wells Fargo Junior Golf Clinic such a great success.
