Get into the Swing of Recycling at 2010 Toshiba Classic
The 2010 Toshiba Classic is “going green” on the green.
The 3rd Annual Toshiba “Swing for the Green” Recycling Event will provide the community a free and easy way to responsibly dispose of e-waste. As a thank you, everyone who participates by bringing in an item for recycling will receive two complimentary admission tickets good for any one day of the tournament. Limit two per person.
Patrons are encouraged to bring their outdated electronic equipment Friday, March 5 through Sunday, March 7 at the main admission gate of the Newport Beach Country Club including desktop PCs, laptops, computer monitors, printers, camcorders, fax machines, cell phones, VCRs, DVD players, rechargeable batteries, MP3 players and stereos** can be brought to the main gate and dropped off. All items must be able to be carried, no drive up available.
In addition, Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc. has partners with Goodwill Industries to support their community efforts and will be distributing two admission tickets to anyone who participates in their e-recycling events on leading up to the tournament.
“For the past two years the ‘Swing for the Green’ event has proven to help our community become more environmentally aware and we are thrilled to once again provide Orange County residents with a fun and responsible way to recycle their old electronics,” stated Mark Simons, President and CEO, Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc. “As a thank you to those who participate, we will be giving out two free one-day passes to the tournament for bringing an electronic device to recycle. Our goal is to drive people to be more environmentally responsible, while getting to enjoy a day on the green.”
Since 2005, Toshiba has participated in over 20 recycling events around the U.S., helping to not only displace recyclable metals, plastics, and glass from reaching local landfills, but also deferring the costs from local citizens.
