About Military Appreciation Day
The Hoag Classic is proud to host Military Appreciation Day Saturday of tournament weekend. Since 2015. The event has grown into one of the highlights of tournament week. On this day all active duty, military reserve, national guard, military retirees and veterans receive complimentary admission and food service for themselves and a guest.
Each year the Hoag Classic selects individuals who have distinguished themselves within our country and community. This year, we will honor those heroes by introducing our selected 2024 honorees on the 18th hole in between the final groups on Saturday. A military charity presentation will take place on the 18th Green immediately following play. These individuals are then added to the Colonel Norman G. Ewers Military Wall of Honor, which pays special tribute to our honorees in perpetuity.
The tournament also donates to numerous military charities. Our partnering organizations include the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation and the Blue Angels Foundation. In 2023, the tournament donated over $80,000 to our partner organizations including the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, the Blue Angels Foundation, United States Navy Memorial, and the Heart of a Lion Foundation. Each year the program continues to grow with the support of our many corporate partners.
