Charity

The Hoag Classic is one of the most prestigious events on the PGA TOUR Champions. It hosts the finest field of professional golfers all year, is played at one of the most scenic golf courses and has donated record earnings for charity.

Known as the most philanthropic tournament on the PGA TOUR Champions, this event is highly regarded for its profound history of giving. In 2000, it became the first event to raise $1,000,000 for charity – which went unmatched for four years. We set the standard that has since become the model for every TOUR event.

For 20 years, the tournament has raised over $20,000,000 which directly aided our community in Southern California. Proceeds have benefitted many of Hoag’s institutes including the Hoag Cancer Foundation, the Sue & Bill Gross Women’s Pavilion, Jeffrey M. Carlton Heart and Vascular Institute, and Mary & Dick Allen Diabetes Center. In addition to Hoag, tournament proceeds have also been contributed to more than 50 local charities.

Hoag Classic’s charitable initiatives include support of local military families and charities and support of Hoag Employees trying to continue their education. To learn more about each of these initiates, please continue reading below.

Military Appreciation Day, presented by CoreLogic

The Hoag Classic is honored to recognize our country’s servicemen and women. All former, active, and reserve military members receive complimentary admission to the tournament, plus food & beverage service for themselves and one guest. As part of the celebration, the Hoag Classic celebrates these heroes with a special ceremony on Saturday of tournament week.

Hoag Classic and the Kingston Technology Scholarship Fund

Thanks to the generosity and vision of Kingston Technology and in partnership with the Hoag Classic, Hoag employees are advancing their education and elevating the level of care Hoag provides to our community. In it’s inaugural year the Hoag Employee Scholarship Program awarded $60,000 in scholarships to deserving students at Hoag.
